OysterFest in The Bronx

Small Axe Peppers derives its name from the proverb that says the Big Tree will be overcome by all of our small axe swinging in unison.

Similarly, Thanksgiving is a reflection point where we not only give thanks for our families and  loved ones, but also the bounty from the earth and sea.

To help further this connection and “oneness” with the world, we celebrated an afternoon of community gardening and oysters: the results were spectacular.

As you celebrate Thanksgiving with your friends and family, we invite you think about how you can make the world a bit smaller with your own Small Axe!

Special thanks to our friends at the Garden of Happiness for hosting us, @zadiesoysterroom for working with this to make it reality especially Chef Mike who was a the real architect of the day along with his co-workers and friends @madskemble and Manny!

The great @claudiacrotty was the shutterbug and protégé. Technical assistance from the @riseandrootfarm & @marisstellabluepoints and to our friends at @nycparks who made a much appreciated cameo!
