Localish Presents: It’s Hot Sauce with a Cause

ABC’s Localish is all about bringing out the good in America’s cities. Good food. Good people. Good living. Their locally-sourced stories are aimed at transcending city limits so you can live like a local wherever you go.

So, when they came across Small Axe Pepper’s efforts to empower community gardens and urban farms, they decided it’d perfect to feature on their show Bite Size a foodie’s guilty pleasure, which highlights the yummiest, most unique food items in top cities across America.

Watch below as Danielle Leigh joins us at GrowNYC’s Annual Spring Plant Sale at College Avenue Garden in the Bronx. Aimed at providing community groups with perennial and annual flowering plants, herbs, and vegetables from Greenmarket farmers at wholesale prices, it’s the perfect place for Small Axe Peppers to donate 90 serrano pepper beds to nearly 40 community gardens.

She then headed over to the East Village’s Kuma Inn to meet Culinary Institute of America graduate Chef King Phojonakong — the executive chef for all Small Axe products — to experience the sorcery behind our sauces!
