Strasburg Community Garden
The Strasburg Community Garden project is rooted in education, providing fresh food access, and growing as a community. The grant-funded project provides 16 plots for families and community partners to grow fresh produce for themselves, while donating a portion back to local food pantries. In addition to addressing food access in a designated “food desert”, this project provides an outdoor classroom for education of all ages. The garden works with a variety of partners to provide workshops throughout the growing season to showcase how rewarding it can be to produce your own food. The Strasburg Community Garden also strives to be a showcase of sustainability, with a composting system, rain water harvesting, solar power, pollinator habitat, native bee homes and bioswale for managing stormwater. |
