Semillas de Justicia (Seeds of Justice) Community Garden (Chicago , IL) was founded in Back in 2013-2014, sprouting out of a brownfield (abandoned industrial site) neighbors and community members fought to get the site cleaned up and have it become a community garden, due to gardening/farming being a common interest within this community. and serves The abundance of produce we collectively were able to give out to community in these times, donation from our 30+ gardeners, and using up as much of our space as possible to continue to produce more each year. . This garden is a place where people can learn, work, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. It exemplifies community growth and contribution.
